Where can I find reliable medical information online?

www.thuisarts.nl. is a reliable online source for medical information. All information on the site is supplied and checked by the scientific society of Dutch general practitioners (GPs). Do you want to quit smoking? See www.rookvrijookjij.nl for information and tips.

Do I have to pay for a consultation?

Your doctor’s appointment is covered under basic health insurance and will not be charged to you. Prescribed medication, additional examinations and certain operations are not covered and will be charged to you. Consult your heath insurance policy for terms and conditions.

Can I be seen today?

Would you like to be seen today? Contact the practice as soon as possible, but not later than 10.00 AM. We will then try our best to offer you an appointment on that same day.

I am unable to come to my appointment!

Are you unable to come to your appointment? Let us know in a timely fashion. Appointments that are cancelled less than 24 hours in advance, can be charged. The costs amount to 12,50 euros per consultation and 25,00 euros for a double consultation. These costs are not covered under your health insurance.

What exactly does a practice nurse do?

De Huisarts employs practice nurses (POH). These practice nurses supervise patients with chronic conditions like asthma, COPD and diabetes. De Huisarts also has a specialized POH for supporting patients with psychological symptoms and illnesses (POH-GGZ).

What is LSP?

LSP (national internet exchange system for electronic health records) allows health care providers acces (if needed) to important information from your medical file. Examples of this are: your medications, allergies to certain medications or important illnesses or conditions. This information can be of great value in case of emergency. Can my GP issue a medical certificate?

Your own GP is not authorised to issue a medical certificate. See this brochure by KNMG for more information.

Do you have a complaint about us?

If you are dissastified, we appreciate you discussing this with us. When we are aware of your dissatisfaction, we can try to resolve it with you. Should you so desire you can use this complaint form or you contact us by phone. You can also present your complaint directly to an independent complaint officer.
