    • Sustainability is a priority for us

    De Huisarts neemt gezondheid serieus. Dat betekent dat ook het milieu serieus genomen moet worden. Het één is immers niet los te zien van het ander. De Huisarts en haar medewerkers willen de CO2 voetafdruk van de praktijk zo veel mogelijk beperken. Dit is wat we daaraan doen:

    All energy we use is 100% green electricity from Energie.Vanons.org

    Housecalls are made with the practice’s bicycle or the refurbished electric car

    Building is FSC-certified and is suitable for reuse, office furniture and equipment are refurbished

    We have solar panels of European make

    We select suppliers by green ambitions

    We have a preference for online consultations (by video or otherwise)

    What sustainability at De Huisarts looks like in concrete terms:

    • We have no connection to the gas mains
    • We have genuine green electricity from Energie.Vanons.org (so no tinkering with certificates but 100% green energy of Dutch origin)
    • We have solar panels with a 25 year guarantee of certified, European make
    • Housecalls are made using the practice’s bicycle as much as possible
    • We have a refurbished electric company car
    • We are located in the proximity of public transport
    • We limit the use of disposables as much as possible
    • We collect waste seperately
    • Our building is made of FSC-certified wood, is reusable and the upholstery is made of natural, recyclable material

    • We purchase appliances and other items with a long-lasting guarantee to limit the replacement of appliances as much as possible

    • We avoid on location meetings wherever possible
    • We use as much refurbished IT appliances as possible
    • We try to support online consultations (by video or otherwise) to limit the amount of necessary transport movements
    • We exclusively use LED lights
    • Alle appliances that are not in use outside of opening hours, are automatically switched off
    • We employ a green bank
    • We use as much rechargeable, recyclable batteries as possible
    • We only use the printer on request and store almost all information digitally
    • We select our suppliers by their ‘green’ ambitions and work exclusively with suppliers who are far advanced in the structural reduction of their carbon footprint and who actually take this process seriously
    • We exclusively use biodegradable cleaning supplies
    • We cooperate with the ‘Landelijke Huisartsen Vereniging’ to bring attention to the notion of the necessity of making the doctor’s practice in our branch more sustainable, and help colleagues with taking steps in this area
